Range of Motion for Touring Improved.

Years ago, I worked on a fun project with the Salomon QST 130. The original design had a very limited range of motion while touring, so I decided to customize them. I modified the boots to have a removable tongue, which significantly increased the range of motion on the ascent. Additionally, I added a pull tab to help with reinserting the tongues for the descent.

Better Heal Retention

This project was incredibly fun for two reasons: first, because it was for a good friend, and second, because the modification was inspired by none other than Cody Townsend. I removed the old buckle system on the lower clog and replaced it with a ratcheting system. The new contact points for the ratchet system were positioned further back and closer to the ankle, which ultimately resulted in better heel retention.

Round Two - Night Rider Edition

Because the first round went so well, another good friend asked me to work on his boots. After tearing them apart and filling the old holes to maintain the water seal, we decided to go with a sleek black ratchet, creating the "Night Rider Edition."
